ibu Support Groups
ibu Family Resource Group has many support groups under its umbrella offering the opportunity to meet other parents, make life-long friends, share experiences and provide support during both the exciting and challenging times as a parent. All our Support Groups, Well Baby Clinic and Midwife Advisory services are FREE to ibu members.
Bumps and Babes Support Group
Wednesday Mornings (10am – 12pm) Various Venues
Bumps and Babes is designed for pregnant ladies, new mums & dads plus newborns in KL. It is a very popular Support Group that provides an excellent opportunity to meet people, find play mates for your newborns and access the expertise of our volunteer Health Professionals. The best thing about Bumps and Babes is the network and support it provides pregnant Mums and parents with newborns. ibu knows what a wonderful and challenging time this is but we also recognised that having friends to lean on makes the whole experience more manageable and fun! When you access the Bumps and Babes you will be welcomed by one of our new-Mum Reps. They will introduce you to the group and answer any queries you have regarding ibu Family Resource Group.
On odd weeks of the month (1st, 3rd and 5th week) its held at Noriter Café (Level 2, 1 Mont Kiara Mall, 1 Jalan Kiara, Mont Kiara, 50480, KL). Noriter Café has a charming child friendly vibe, with an amazing play area suitable for children up to 5 years old. The owners Jason and Jamie have kindly agreed to support our Bumps and Babes meetings by reserving two tables next to the entrance of the play area and also providing a “Drink, Cake and Play Area Entry Deal”. All you will need to do is show the staff your ibu Members Card on a Wednesday between 10am – 12 pm. This venue is great for those parents that have a newborn and toddler in tow.
On even weeks (2nd and 4th week) its held at ibu House.
The Well Baby Clinic is on all even weeks and the Midwife Advisory runs on the 4th week of the month. On the same day/time as Bumps and Babes is the Crawlers Playgroup at ibu House. We encourage parents and babies to “graduate” from one group to another whilst still being able to keep in touch with friends that are not ready to make the move yet. The Well Baby Clinic allows you to access one-to-one advice from a Healthcare Professional who can weigh your baby and can answer any queries you may have on health issues or developmental milestones.
The Midwife Advisory allows you to access the advice of our experienced midwife (Jennifer Hor) who can give pregnancy, lactation, bottle-feeding, weaning and health support. If you have any questions, please feel free to contact the Support Group Coordinator (email@example.com) .
